TX Senator Files Two Bills to Legalize Online Sports Betting

Texas State Sen. Lois Kolkhorst has filed two bills, SB 715 and SJR 39, to legalize online sports betting (online only). The measures, supported by operators, teams and racetracks, asks voters to decide in a November election whether they want to legalize sports betting.

The legislation would impose a 10% tax rate. We expect State Rep. Jeff Leach to be the sponsor in the House.
