Update on North Carolina’s Rule Set #2

On 12/13 the Commission approved final Rule Set #2, with additional amendments.
Of note, was the decision to remove restrictions on how affiliate marketers are compensated. A revised version of the rules has not yet been made available, but is expected soon. Please visit this website for the updated version.
Further, the Commission is responding to numerous inquiries through its FAQ page, including much needed direction on what types of entities need to be licensed.
14 companies have applied for operator licenses; 10 service providers; and 34 suppliers. They have not yet set a firm launch date, and plan to announce in the coming weeks.
