Updates from Maryland SWARC & Announcement on Launch of Sports Wagering

On Nov. 16, SWARC approved the issuance of the 10 master licenses, but did not act on the Class B retail approved the MD Lottery (the 10 operators approved by MD Lottery do not need SWARC approval).
SWARC also noted that there were 11 remaining master license applications and 6 remaining Class B retail applications (which includes the one approved by the MD Lottery). The MD Lottery will next conduct a controlled demo of the approved applicant’s platform to ensure the meet the technical/regulator standards. Once that is concluded, the operators will be issued their license and cleared to launch.
On Nov. 17, the MD Lottery announced that Nov. 23 would be the launch of sports wagering.
