VA Lawmakers Held Second Informational Hearing On Gaming

Virginia state lawmakers held a second informational hearing on gaming on October 20. While the purpose of the hearing was to discuss landbased gaming, Cordish used it to push back against iGaming, as they are building a casino in VA.
Their testimony received some push back from lawmakers who questioned why they oppose iGaming while still profiting from it. The testimony can be viewed here.
There is growing expectation that Virginia will seriously consider iGaming legislation during the upcoming session. iDEA is looking at hiring a lobbyist in VA to represent our interests during the upcoming session.
