OH: CCC Releases Fifth and Final Batch of Rules
The Casino Control Commission (CCC) released the fifth and final batch of rules this week (found here), which are the most substantive as it pertains to management services providers (both mobile and retail).
The order of the batches and rules released by the CCC was designed to move licensing to the front of the line to maximize the amount of time the CCC has to do the application and investigation processes for licenses, whereas batches 4 and 5 are more concerned with how “the rubber meets the road” and the actual implementation and operation of sports betting.
All of DRAFT rules can be found here.
Should fixes or corrections be needed for the sports betting legislation, they would need to be passed before the June break. Should the items not be amended until lame duck session, they will either require an emergency clause to go into effect immediately, or sports betting will launch with the current provisions in place.
iDEA is reviewing the final batch of rules and determine where it would be most appropriate to provide comments for the benefit of our members.
iDEA continues to engage with the Ohio Casino Control Commission during the regulatory process.
