Michigan Passes State Budget; iGaming Taxes Will Not Increase

October 3, 2025

In regards to our previous post on Michigan’s budget talks, the Legislature has passed the state budget, which included new revenue for road funding.

While there was an effort to increase the online gaming tax rates as part of the overall road funding plan, this effort was defeated and the tax rates weren’t increased. The budget now awaits the Governor’s signature, which is expected to happen in the very near future.

iDEA will remain engaged with lawmakers to monitor the tax rate issue.
