  • Legal Sports Report: Entain, MGM Aligned On Another BetMGM Investment Year
    • BetMGM might be a top three sports betting and iGaming operator, but the sportsbook product is still not where it needs to be, its partners sare saying. Both Entain and MGM feel they will need another year of investment, at least, with the focus on “building the momentum,” Entain’s Interim CEO Stella David said during the company’s recent first-quarter trading update. Just how much both companies will invest after $150 million was jointly invested in 2023 has not been announced. MGM reports its first-quarter earnings next Wednesday.
  • PlayUSA: Light & Wonder To Distribute Bragg Gaming’s Online Casino Content Internationally
    • Bragg Gaming Group has recently signed an international online casino content distribution agreement with Light & Wonder. According to the company’s press release, the exclusive content from the supplier’s Powered by Bragg partners will also be integrated, providing Light & Wonder with a wide selection of “highly localized” and “unique titles.”

Alabama

  • Bonus: Conference Committee Holds Alabama’s Last Hope For Gambling Expansion, But Time Is Short
    • A conference committee meeting this week will kick off what is the last hope for an Alabama gambling expansion referendum this November. The goal of the committee will be to find a compromise between the state’s House and Senate. Both chambers passed gambling legislation earlier this year, but have significantly different views on which forms of gambling to present to voters.

    • Through the first three months of 2024, online table games are on pace to produce $586.4 million in revenue this year, which would be more than a $100 million increase from 2023. While table games will never reach the height of slots, which generated $177.5 million gross revenue just in March, the popularity of the table titles are starting to grow. Online operators have expanded live dealer offerings, too, which has helped PA online casino revenue soar.
