A congressman and senator, both of whom have been highly critical of legal sports betting in the U.S. in recent years, introduced a 50-page bill last week that would make states conform to a number of federal guidelines in order to allow licensed sportsbooks to operate in their jurisdictions. Those sportsbooks would also face restrictions on advertising and would need to perform affordability checks on certain customers. What else is in the bill, how has the industry reacted to it and what are its chances of passing?
